US President Donald Trump has come under fire from senators after using Twitter to attack retailer Nordstrom, who recently made the decision to drop Trump’s daughter’s clothing line.
Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday to express his opinion over the incident, saying his daughter Ivanka had been treated “unfairly”.
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!

Senators criticised Trump for his “inappropriate” tweet, which again calls into question the relationship between the President and his various business interests. Ivanka Trump recently stepped down from her position at her fashion label, as well as others in the Trump Organisation, to move to Washington as an aide for her father.
Nordstrom took the decision to remove Ivanka’s clothing line last week, citing poor sales as the reason. However, it had been subject to a heavy campaign from anti-Trump protestors, who called for the store to distance itself from the Trumps after Ivanka continued to support her father in the wake of his lewd comments against women. The #GrabYourWallet campaign has had a reasonable degree of success since it began several months ago, with Nordstrom being the fifth retailer to drop Ivanka’s brand.
Sean Spicer, Mr. Trump’s press secretary, said the president’s tweet was not about business but about “an attack on his daughter.”
“For people to take out their concern about his actions, or his executive orders, on members of his family, he has every right to stand up for his family,” Mr. Spicer said.
