A recently published survey by Glassdoor showed that the tech industry has now overtaken banking for being the highest paid industry in the UK; out of the ten highest paying companies in the UK for 2016, just three were banks – fifty percent of the list were technology based.
SAP Software Solutions
Multinational software company SAP focuses on creating software to manage business and customer relations, and has offices in both Maidenhead and Knutsford. The German headquartered company has 120 regional offices across the globe and is led by CEO Bill McDermott.
Its median base salary is a healthy £75,000, with the median total compensation for employees standing at £90,000.
EMC Computer Systems
EMC is the world’s largest provider of data storage systems, and is currently in the process of a takeover by Dell – the largest ever acquisition in the tech industry. Founded in 1979, it is headquartered in the US and has several offices in the UK.
Its median base salary is £70,000, with a total compensation of £86,500.
Social media heavyweight Facebook is number three on the list, and has its London office near Kings Cross. Well-known for being one of the highest paying companies in the tech industry, its median base salary is £68,430.
Cisco Systems
Worldwide IT leader Cisco is a household name; it designs and manufactures networking equipment and has a global presence. Headquartered in California, it has UK offices in London, Reading, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Its median total compensation stands at £74,000, with its base salary at £58,952.50.
Unsurprisingly, search engine Google also made the top five. Well-known for the relaxed business atmosphere and employee perks of its London headquarters, jobs here are unsurprisingly sought after.
Its median salary is £60,225, with its total compensation at £73,300.
