Cotswold Raw begins fundraising on Crowdcube

Winner of the ‘Pet Product Innovation of the Year Food/Treats Category’ Award, Cotswold RAW is a healthy, raw dog food alternative to the modern processed options.

Taking advantage of the £2.4 billion UK market, the brand has shown a promising start with an award-winning recipe and selling to 50 retailers, Cotswold RAW is now on Crowdcube hoping to raise £275,000 from investors with an equity of 8.76 percent.

“Our aim was to create a raw pet food product that is easy to deploy, provides genuine “foodie” appeal and facilitates portion control. Dogs have evolved on a diet of raw meat and bones whereas modern processed food contains carbohydrate filler and additives and is subjected to high-temperature processing.

“Feeding raw instead of processed food is understood to have many health benefits but can be inconvenient for people with a busy lifestyle. Cotswold RAW solves this problem by packaging its meals as easy to handle portions and delivering them to the RAW feeding club customer’s door in their own vans.” it reads on the Crowdcube page.

Launched in 2015, Cotswold RAW have already producing over three tonnes per week of sausages and traditional mince, all sourced within the UK, and are delivering to over 100 individuals and 50 retailers.

“We have raised £585,000 total SEIS/EIS funding to date, which was used to build the brand and production facilities. New funds will be used to expand the range and customer base, develop a cat recipe, increase production capacity, source bespoke freezers from the Far East, establish distribution hubs across the UK and develop a breeder scheme, sensitive to the needs of our independent retailers. Overfunding will allow us to accelerate this programme and proceed with our targets.”

It is no wonder the brand have been named as one of the five finalists for the Rural Business of the Year at the Amazon Growing Business Awards.
