German crowdfunding platform Kapilendo has raised 7 million euros of funding in its latest financing round, just in time for the New Year.
Kapilendo is a relative newcomer to the crowdfunding sector, started in Berlin in 2015. Just two days after Christmas is announced the success of its latest funding round, raised seven million euros in Series B funding. The pension fund for the Berlin Chamber of Dentists led the round, in which German fintech incubator FinLab AG and Comvest Partners also participated.
Founder and CEO Christopher Grätz said:
“With the fresh capital, we want to become the leading full-service provider in the field of crowdfunding in Germany.
“We’re very pleased not only to have recruited a new strategic investor in VZ Berlin, but also an entrepreneurial investor whose extensive network will afford us many opportunities,” he added in a blog post.
Kapilendo holds the European record for the fastest money-raising, with Hertha BSC’s campaign on their site hitting 1 million euros in just 9 minutes 23 seconds. Their site boasts that many of their campaigns with successful business models raise over 200,000 euros in 42 hours.
CEO of FinLab AG Stefan Schütze, who participated in the round, said:

Kapilendo’s site combines two financing models, small business loans and equity crowdfunding investments, opening up the marketplace for all types of businesses in search of equity investors.
