Since its announcement in October, anticipation for Victoria Beckham’s collaboration with American store target has been high.
Finally, the wait is over and the mother of four revealed the entire collection yesterday in New York.
“Designing for children is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I was incredibly excited to be able to incorporate childrenswear into this collection,” said Victoria Beckham.
“Being a mother has helped me understand what’s important when it comes to the category. I have had years of learning that function is often just as important as form, and that children need to be able to feel comfortable and free in what they wear.”
The collection will go on sale in Target on April 9, bringing a modern and chic collection of pieces that start from just $6 and include plus sized and children’s wear. The fashion designer revealed that her daughter, Harper, helped the design process.
Beckham revealed on Instagram that her favourite look from the new Target collection was the Calla Lily design, seen on a silk shirt and trousers.
“[It’s] something that’s very signature to me,” said Beckham, whose only accessory at the launch was a men’s Rolex watch. “I feel it’s sophisticated and chic,” she said.
UK fans – do not worry. Whilst there may not be any Target stores here, selected pieces from the collection will available to purchase on Beckham’s own e-commerce site, VictoriaBeckham.com.
“It has always been important to me that my designs reach women all over the world,” Beckham told American Vogue. “I think it’s great [and] it’s a collection that women everywhere can enjoy.”
