The London Underground recorded its busiest morning since March 2020 on Monday.
The increase in underground journeys was 17% compared to last week, whilst the number of people on buses was up by 39%.
The biggest impact here is likely to be children returning to school.
The rise in travellers was particularly between 8 am-9 am, where in that house alone there was an increase of 22% in tube journeys and 71% for bus trips.
“The number of people back at Canary Wharf varies from our tenants. Some businesses have asked for everybody to return and some are asking people to return in phases. In the meantime, our shops, bars and restaurants are doing really well,” said a spokesperson for Canary Wharf.
Morning rush hours on the road are unchanged from last week.
