A new survey has named Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) as the best private firm to work for in the UK.
New research by the Indeed recruitment website rated Apple as the top of the 20-long company list.
The survey does not just consider good salaries but takes into account a positive work-life balance including sociable working hours and good holiday allowance.
“The difference between a good job and a great job can vary from person to person, but our ranking shows some common themes shine through,” said Bill Richards, of Indeed.
“Companies that make their employees feel valued and offer a positive working environment score consistently highly among the reviews posted on Indeed.”
“As we continue to see for many staff, work-life balance, career prospects and a great workplace culture can all mean more than a good salary alone.”
The trillion-dollar tech giant employs around 6,500 people in the UK, with the London’s Regent Street store boasting around 60,000 customers every week.
Following Apple in the second spot was Wren Kitchens. The pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline (LON: GSK) was given the third place on the list.
Colleen Schuller, who is the head of employee engagement at GSK, said in the group’s press release: “We’re a science-led global healthcare company with a special purpose to help people do more, feel better and live longer – and we believe that starts with our people. It’s great to see that past and present employee feedback reinforces that GSK is a great place to work.”
Also in the top ten were Homeserve (LON: HSV), Rolls-Royce (LON: RR), Nando’s and Lush Cosmetics.
